MATERIALS
I work with New Waste textile materials. These are new textiles, produced without ever being used and discarded from companies in Denmark - surplus, deadstock, or production errors.
PRODUCTION
I create unique designs and products made to order. Everything is handcrafted in Aarhus, so same-day delivery is not always possible. On the other hand, you get to be part of the process and put your stamp on the choice of materials and colors.
MEDIATION
I want to contribute to ensuring that knowledge about sustainable production and consumption is widely anchored in the population, in our daily lives and lifestyles. Contact me if you would like me to come and give a presentation or a workshop for you.
DESIGN WITH HEAD, HANDS & HEART
FRAAES began in 2014 as a collaboration between me and a number of Danish theaters and venues. At that time, I collected used performance and concert banners and designed bags, which the venues subsequently sold. Aarhus Theater, Vendsyssel Theater, Musikhuset in Aarhus, and Fermaten in Herning were among the first to embrace the idea.
It is not only the satisfaction of creating something beautiful with my hands that drives me. I am also driven by the urge to set the bar for design and product development where the only right thing is to use the resources that are already available. From 2016 to 2022, FRAAES took a break while I designed bags and did web design at GRÜNBAG. My enthusiasm for bag design and the possibilities within upcycling tarpaulin were thoroughly explored during this period, while I educated myself in sustainable business development. Thinking circularly from the very first idea to a design and integrating this mindset into the entire product lifecycle is at the core of FRAAES.
